Lassen Trail and Later Wagon Roads Near Westwood
The Lassen Trail of 1848-49 to the gold fields passed three miles north of modern Westwood. The Humbug Road of 1857 from Marysville to Susanville and the Humboldt Wagon Road of 1863 from Chico to Susanville passed by near later Highway 32.
